NOTICE OF PUBLIC HEARING
FINAL LOCAL ACTION
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Point Arena City Council will conduct a public hearing at City Hall, 451 School Street, Point Arena, CA, and via Zoom on Tuesday, July 21, 2026, at 6:00 p.m., or as soon thereafter as possible, on the following item:

REQUEST: The City of Point Arena Wastewater Treatment Facility has requested a Coastal Development Permit to allow the repair and maintenance to Waste Water Treatment Facility and related sewer main infrastructure. Some of the proposed work would occur within 100 feet of known wetlands. The project includes the following components:
- Electrical and Control System will be replaced, and a new permanent standby diesel-powered generator and automatic transfer switch will be installed to address frequent power outages due to increased storm severity.
- The project includes a new permanent standby diesel-powered generator, utility service transformer enclosure, meter, breaker, and automatic transfer switch. A new concrete pad of 75 SF will be added to an already developed area to house the new generator for electrical backup.
- Installation of a new headworks automatic screening system to remove non-organic solids on a continuous basis and divert these from discharge.
- Less than one-mile length of sewer main will be replaced or repaired within existing roadways. This work will also include three new manholes and the separation and repair of private laterals.
LOCATION: 105 Iverson Ave, and portions of Iverson Avenue, Main Street, Port Road, School Street, Mill Street and Scott Place within Point Arena, CA;
The project is located in the Coastal Zone.

All interested persons are invited to provide written comments during the public review period. The public comment period runs from the date this notice is published until July 21, 2026 to allow sufficient time for submission of comments by mail. Written comments should be delivered to the City, no later than 5:00PM on July 21, 2026 via email to planning@pointarena.ca.gov or via mail to City Planner, 451 School Street, Point Arena, CA. 95468.
If you challenge the above matter(s) in court, you may be limited to raising only those issues you or someone else raised at the public hearing described in this notice, or in written correspondence delivered to the City Clerk at, or prior to, the public hearing.
This project may be appealed to the Coastal Commission within 10 days of the final City Council decision. There is no appeal fee.
