Filing Period Extended for Point Arena City Council Election
The filing period for candidates seeking election to the Point Arena City Council has been extended through Wednesday, August 12, 2026, at 3:00 p.m.
The filing period has been extended because Councilmember Anna Dobbins has announced that she will not seek reelection. Under California Elections Code, when an eligible incumbent does not file nomination papers by the close of the regular nomination period, the nomination period is extended for five calendar days to allow additional candidates to qualify for the ballot.
The City of Point Arena will elect two City Council Members to four-year terms at the November 3, 2026 General Municipal Election.
Individuals interested in serving on the City Council must:
- Be at least 18 years of age;
- Be a registered voter; and
- Reside within the Point Arena city limits.
Nomination papers are available from the City Clerk’s Office at Point Arena City Hall during regular business hours, Monday to Wednesday, 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m.
completed nomination papers must be filed with the City Clerk no later than 3:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 12, 2026.
